A day spent exploring the Yorkshire Dales with Steve and his beautifully preserved Volvo P1800. We followed quiet, winding roads through the landscape, stopping wherever the light and surroundings felt right for photographing this classic Volvo. One of the standout moments came when we stumbled across a hidden waterfall, where Steve, without much hesitation, ended up jumping into the freezing water while I stayed on dry ground. We also paused at the church in Dent, along with a handful of other locations that offered the perfect backdrop for the car. The combination of the Volvo P1800, the Yorkshire Dales and an unhurried day on the road made for one of my favourite automotive photography sessions to date. As a classic car photographer, I’m drawn to this kind of work—iconic machines placed in real landscapes, with space for the story of the day to unfold naturally.
