Mini Technique
This shoot was a little more personal than most. The workshop belongs to Craig at Mini Technique, someone I've known for years and the person I've bought both of my own classic Minis from. Over that time, I've spent countless hours here, whether dropping my cars off for work, hunting down parts, or simply picking Craig's brain for advice. If there's something worth knowing about classic Minis, chances are he already knows it. The workshop itself is exactly the kind of place that makes you want to keep exploring. Every shelf, corner and workbench seems to hold another interesting part, forgotten treasure or ongoing project. From full restorations and cherished road cars to highly modified track-focused Minis, there's always something fascinating tucked away waiting to be discovered. Spending a few hours photographing the workshop felt less like a planned shoot and more like documenting a place that has been part of my own classic Mini journey over the years. Having bought both of my Minis through Craig and trusted him with work on the cars, it was rewarding to spend some time capturing the environment where so much of that knowledge, craftsmanship and enthusiasm comes together. Mini Technique is one of those places where you can walk in for a simple chat and end up staying far longer than planned. Between the cars, the parts and Craig's endless knowledge of sourcing, restoring and modifying classic Minis, there's always something interesting to see or learn. The resulting images capture the character of the workshop and the passion behind it—something that's becoming increasingly rare. More than just a place to work on cars, it's a hub for classic Mini enthusiasts, and a reminder of why these small cars continue to inspire such a loyal following decades after they first appeared.
